VHS Club x Girls Like Horror presents: The Birds

Join VHS Club x Girls Like Horror for a very Philly Hitchcock FREE screening of The Birds! To celebrate the start of football season we will be firing up the VCR and wearing our Eagles green like Tippi 💚 for this very special Sunday Scaries. We will be starting with the classic Twilight Zone episode “The Monsters are Due on Maple Street” from 11:30-12pm. Movie at noon! We will have a cereal bar and also invite you to bring snacks to share treats potluck style. There’s no Eagles game on 9/7 but we will be still be rooting for The Birds 🦅

For those that are unfamiliar, VHS tapes can have some humming, buzzing, popping etc. so if you are sensitive to sound or have any sensory sensitivity please be aware!

BYO everything 👍🏽
Bring your own blanket, brunch, matcha lattes or hair of the dog and get cozy! We’ll have folding chair seating in the back of the viewing room and welcome folks to sit on the floor towards the front of you wanna sprawl out picnic style. Feel free to bring a comfy beach chair or floor pillow!

Accessibility:
Movie screenings are in room 2R of The Arts League so you must climb a flight of stairs to get to the movie.

Vibe:
This is an immersive analog & lo-fi experience! Think, “AV club gone rogue and sneaking a movie after school“. This is a free and fun experiment and the main attraction is that we’ll all be watching movies together old school and have a good time doing it! Art supplies will also be available if you feel inspired!
