Facing the Monsters Together is a weekly writing workshop wherein horror is our goal and fear is our weapon. Participants will explore what terrifies them and how to use horror writing as a means to process fears. We'll develop spells, rituals, how-to-guides, and finally, a flash fiction story of triumph by use of free writing, live storytelling, and literary prompts. Each workshop will explore different themes such as: love & monsters, long nights, and family.
WI-MOTO NYOKA (she/her/ella) is an AfroMexican horror & sci-fi writer. She is the founder of Dusky Projects, creating/producing horror & sci-fi projects for young adult and adult audiences. Awards and honors include: Ignyte Award Winner for Best Fiction Podcast, Independent Public Media Foundation grant recipient, Nightmare Film Festival Best Short Screenplay Award Winner, and more.
