Intro to Sculpting in Cement: Make and Paint a Cement Sphere
SUMMER 2: JULY 14 - AUGUST 31
Dates: 8/9, 8/16
Time: 2 PM - 4 PM
Class Description:
THIS IS A 2-DAY WORKSHOP.
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the basics of sculpting with cement by creating your own hollow sphere. This all level-friendly class will guide you through the process of mixing, molding, and refining your sphere before adding your personal artistic touch with paint. Whether you prefer a natural stone-like finish or a bold, colorful design, you’ll leave with a unique, hand-crafted piece to display in your home or garden.
No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! All materials will be provided.
NOTE: THERE IS A $15 MATERIALS FEE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS WORKSHOP. PLEASE SELECT THE ADD-ON BELOW.
Teacher Info:
Cecilia McKinnon is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from California and New Mexico, currently living and working in Philadelphia. McKinnon’s work explores entropy, time, precarious landscapes, and ‘natural’ histories. Her work draws on found and salvaged materials, and takes form as dyed and quilted textiles, biodegradable cast objects, moving images, and creative writing. She holds a Master of Fine Art in Fibers + Material Practices from Concordia University in Montréal, and a BFA from the University of New Mexico.
